Book a Discovery Call

A relaxed chat over the phone, online (or in person if you’re in Edinburgh and fancy a coffee). It’s a chance for us to get to know each other a little, hear about your wedding plans, and chat through what you’d love from your wedding photography. We’ll ask a few easy questions about your day, the people around you, and the kind of photographs that feel most important to you. You can also ask anything you’d like about how we work or what to expect along the way. Choosing a wedding photographer is a personal thing, and the discovery call is about making sure everything feels comfortable, natural, and like the right fit for you both

02

Experience

Your wedding day you’ll have imagined for months, possibly even years and our number 1 job is to make sure you have the time of your lives. We’re there to be your storytellers for the big moments and the little moments. The laughter, nerves, quiet in-between, family connections, portraits and all the details you may not even notice at the time. We promise to make the whole wedding photography experience feel easy and enjoyable so it’s one of highlights of a day that is already one big life highlight.

03

Design

This is the exciting moment when you get to see your wedding photographs for the first time. We’ll treat you to a sneak peek in advance if you like (some couples want to save it for the big reveal). You’ll sit in our design lounge, with a glass of fizz and then we’ll let you enjoy reliving your wedding together through the photographs on the big screen. Basically, your own private wedding movie premier. We’ll then help you decide on the album that’s right for you and together over the next couple of weeks (with the help of our slick online software), we’ll craft your perfect wedding album.

04

Cherish

The time when you receive your stunning Queensberry album and wall art. Rather than images hidden away on a phone or hard drive, your photographs are designed to become part of your home and your story — through beautiful albums, framed artwork, and heirloom pieces that can be enjoyed for years to come. Ultimately, the Blue Sky Photography experience is about more than simply taking photographs. It’s about preserving the feeling of your wedding day in a way that feels meaningful long after the day itself has passed.

“ If there was a sixth star, I would give it to Blue Sky, and then I’d try to give them an additional few. If you’re looking for photographers who go the extra mile (the extra marathon?), you’ve found the dynamic duo of Alie and Niels at Blue Sky, so you can officially look no further. From the first email through until the last handwritten card from them, they went above and beyond, continuing to (somehow) exceed expectations.”

Alie & Niels: creators of timeless, beautiful, forever wedding photography (since 2003)

Your wedding story will be told with creativity and conviction. We believe in timeless, forever wedding photos.  Authentic, beautiful collections of photographs that aren’t dictated by current trends and fads or filters. Wedding photographs that deserve to be printed and crafted into a handmade wedding album.

Pictures will be perfectly edited and polished to perfection. They’ll speak volumes about you as a couple. We’ll be by your side throughout your day, from the slipping on of the gown through to your first dances as husband and wife.

Our skill is one reason we can create those ‘wow’ wedding images. It’s also down to our instinct, years of experience and dogged obsession with detail. We want your experience with Blue Sky Photography to be brilliant, however camera-shy you are.

Prepare to fall in love again. Drop us a line  – we’re ready to welcome you with open arms.

A bride and groom hold hands; the bride wears a lace dress and holds a bouquet, while the groom is in a dark suit—an elegant moment captured with classic Edinburgh wedding photography.

It’s hard to put into words the warmth, ease and generosity of Alie and Niels – not only in the lead up to the wedding but on the day and the follow-up. For a family who are not comfortable in front of the camera they were a gift! Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Latest real life weddings from Blue Sky Photography Blog

Real Life Wedding: Melville Castle

Melville Castle has always had a special place in our hearts as it’s one of the first castles we ever photographed a wedding at. Combine that with one of the most incredible couples and you have the stuff of unstoppable wedding magic. Megan and Jonathan’s story is one of long-lasting friendship followed by falling in love. As they’ve grown up together they are a pair steeped in love and support for each other and that is so evident to anyone who knows them.

Real Life Wedding: Drumtochty Castle

Drumtochty Castle weddings in autumn are simply magical. Andrea and Mike planned theirs to perfection – with the sage greens and golds and oranges of the flowers creating a warmth within the castle as well as outwith. Getting to know these two as been a lot of fun. They make a top team and have a similar wonderful sense of humour. Highlights from their day include Andrea’s walk down the aisle, the emotional readings,  the quaich ceremony (led by Uncle John), the speeches (Andrea’s killer line announcing “Mike I have made you a better person” had the room in stitches). And of course the most brilliant first dance.

Real Life Wedding: Mansfield Traquair

Laura and Calum’s wedding was always going to be a day filled with smiles a-plenty and the kind of party atmosphere that fills Mansfield to its rooftops. It was such a privilege to photograph this wedding as it feels like we’ve known Laura forever and meeting Calum and little Rae has been a delight. Words these two would use to sum up their wedding are sentimental, sincere and silly… it was a day jam-packed with friends, family, fun and a wee dram or two of  Fluffylump.
